Day 1 : Casablanca or from the airport to chafchaouen
We depart from you hotel in Casablanca or from the airport heating the way to chafchaouen. Passing by Rabat the capital of Morocco to the blue city overnight in a Riad.
Day 2 : Chafchaouen to Fes
Departure after half day visit of this beautiful city to one of the oldest imperial cities in the Moroccan country, built by Idress first, the fondator of the Idrissid dynasty. Arrived in the end of the afternoon, overnight in beautiful Riad
Day 3 : Fes – Guided City Tour
We’ll start the day exploring the oldest city in Morocco, snaking through its alleys and narrow streets. Begin sightseeing at the Royal Palace gate. Followed by the Jewish headquarter where the first Mellah ever was built in Morocco, during the 16th century. We’ll ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region.
We’ll also visit the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch you’ll visit many different cooperatives and then, experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes before ending the night at your Riad.
Day 4 : Fes – Ilfrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast at your hotel in Fes we’ll leave for Merzouga through the Mid-Atlas region passing thorugh Ifrane, the “Switzerland” of Morocco. Up next we’ll drive a bit further to explore the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can stop to feed the Berber apes. We’ll then continue to Midelt where we’ll have lunch and then follow the Ziz River through to the Ziz Gorge (valley). Our drive proceeds across the Ziz Valley, Erfoud, and Rissani where we’ll stop to explore the souk (local market). Our day comes to a close as we arrive in Merzouga, spending the night at a local hotel hotel (including a complimentary dinner and breakfast).
Day 5 : Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
We’ll fetch an early start to catch the sunrise in the Merzouga desert, and then return on camelback to the village. From there, we’ll leave to to Tinghir, to reach the Todra Gorge, which is the highest, narrowest gorge in Morocco. Here we may stop to hike within the valley, and after lunch in the gorge we will continue on to the Dades Gorge, where we’ll enjoy sand castles and also geological features called “monkey toes/feet”. We’ll spend the night in the Dades Gorge, at a local hotel, which will include a complimentary dinner and breakfast.
Day 6: Dades Gorge – Ouarzazatte – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh
After breakfast we’ll drive towards Ouarzazatte passing through the route of a thousand Kasbahs (fortresses). We’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna (which is the center of The Valley of Roses) for a stretch and lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we’ll continue our private tour stopping first at the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before continuing through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to Marrakesh where we’ll spend the night at a local riad / hotel.
Day 7: Marrakech guided tour
Today we’ll have a guided tour of Marrakesh. You will explore the main attractions and monuments of the city including the famous Jamma el Fna square, Kotubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. We’ll also explore parts of the city belonging to Fes Jdid “New Fes”, such as Gueliz, The Menara Gardens and Marjolle.
Day 8 : Marrakesh – Casablanca Med – airport
Today depends on your flight schedule. Given the time, you may spend the afternoon discovering the less touristic areas of Marrakesh and enjoying lunch at a local restaurant before being transferred to your hotel/airport.
