Toubkal Mountain Hiking 4 days. North Africa’s highest Mountain is the centerpiece of that incomparable view Southwards from Marrakech, often shocking with it’s unexpected silvering of snow. But it also holds out and easier Summer ascent.
Toubkal Mountain Hiking 4 days
Day 1 : Marrakech – Imlil village
Your guide will pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech to Imlil valley , a small hike after lunch to explore the Berber villages, and Aremd waterfalls for adapting to the High altitudes. Night and dinners in a Berber guest house.
Day 2 : Imlil – Chamharouch – Refuge
We begin our trek heading along the Mazane Valley. We first pass the village of Aremd, and then onto the shrine of Chamharouch, and then continue east by crossing the flood plain and then our route takes us along mule tracks and up into the High Rocky cliffs above the valley. Crossing the River we eventually come to the pastoral shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, which attracts tourists and pilgrims, from here the trail continues to climb steadily, snaking and zigzagging it’s way to the snowline and the refuge ( 3206m ) we stop for the night.
Day 3 : Refuge ( Mountain Hut) to the Toubkal peak 4176m
Early in the morning we make our attempt on the summit of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in the northern Africa. Our route takes us up to the South cirque, crossing the stream above the Mountain hut. The walking is relatively straightforward but the scree and altitude will make the walking quite difficult in parts. The views along the way make the journey more then worthwhile. When you reach the summit you will see that the Vista’s surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. From here there are unrestricted views in every direction. From Marrakech plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far South as Anti Atlas and the Sahara. We will retrace our steps when we return down the mountain and spend the night again in the Refuge.
Day 4: Refuge – Imlil – Marrakech
Today we head back down to Imlil village. After arrival we transfer you back to Marrakech.
