DAY 1: MARRAKECH, AIT BEN HADDOU; OUARZAZATE ( 200 KM )
you will be picked up from your lodge in Marrakech, Hotel or Riad in the Medina, by transport via the the famous high Atlas moutain chain and crossing the Tizi N Tichka pass 2260 M, highest of Morocco. you will be amazed by the wonderful views of the surrounding lanscapes and berber villages, arriving at the UNESCO world heriage of AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH where you will be taken on a walking tour to get a hold of its background as well as its history of being one the most targeted places of shooting many glorious movies such as the Queen of the Desert, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia…. the next stop will be in ouarzazate, a city called Hollywood of africa, where you will be spending the night of your 5 days Marrakech to Merzouga Desert round trip.
DAY 2: OUARZAZATE, DRAA VALLEY, ERG CHEBBI DUNES ( 370 KM)
after breakfast, you will continue 5 day journey to the sahara desert of Merzouga,via Draa valley crossing the volcanic rock formations of Anti Atlas Moutains to Agdez and Tamnougalt. you will then drive through Nkob, a small berber Town Known for its numerous Kasbahs and as the acces point to trek through the saghro Moutains to Dades. you will then reach Rissani, a Saharian town that consedered the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, popular for its traditional market if not the most important in the south in the old days, where many nomads come to shop. heading furthermore to one of main desert destinations, Erg chebbi desert, where you will take a camel trek to head to the camp assistance the sunset on theway over the sand dunes, you will enjoy your dinner and spend the night in tented camp.
DAY 3: EXPLORING THE DESERT AREA AND VISIT OF NOMADS ( 40 KM )
wake up early in the morning, to enjoy the views of the sunrise over the sand dunes before you take your breakfast, ride a camelback to the Hotel or Riad at the at the dunes line to freshen up, and then choose to leave for an off road discovery of the surounding villages such as Hassi Labied, Khamlia where alot of dark skinned misicians known of the Gnaoua music that comes originally from subsaharian countries. or relax next to the pool overlooking the dunes. alternatively you can visit the local market in Rissani and why not an hour ATV Quad biking in the dunes to end up your day ( not included in the price ) the night is spend at the hotel at the dunes line.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA, ERFOUD, TODGHA GORGES , DADES VALLEY. ( 200 km )
after breakfast you meet up with your driver then make your journey back from the desert to dades valley with stops in Arfoud, a city known for the fossilized rocks, the canyons are a hidden gem for the rock cilmbers besides taghia. if you can do a leisure walk in the palmery to visit the old jewish district, after the visit and the walk ze heading to Dades where you will spend the overnight.
DAY 5: DADES VALLEY, ROSES VALLEY, SKOURA PALM GROVE, HIGH ATLAS , MARRAKECH, (AIRPORT)
at last day of 5 days from marrakech to Merzouga. after breakfast we can enjoy one of the better views of the Dades valley from one strategic lookout in the moutains. from there we can appreciate the great number of kasbahs and the scenic characteristics of each one. then we continue by a road dot with diferent kasbahs road. the roses valley an the big skoura palm groves well get to ouarzazate to visit the kasbah of Taourirt, old residence of pascha Glaoui or Marrakech pascha. and if you are interested we can visit the Cinema studios and the cinema meseum. free time for lunch in the town. in the afternoon we start our way back to marrakech going through the moutains port of Tizi N Tichka with some stops to take pictures. here we leave back the moon lanscape to reach another viez full of colors. ze will get to Marrakech end of the afternoon, transfer to your accomodation and end of Marrakech Classical Tour 5 Days.
